Visiting Desert Church
We’re Glad You’re Here
Walking into a church for the first time (or the first time in a long time) can feel overwhelming. We get that.
That’s why we’ve created a space where you can take things at your own pace, grow in your faith, and find real community along the way.

New to Church FAQs
What if I have questions during the service?
Our volunteers and staff are happy to help. If you need assistance or directions, just ask someone wearing a Desert Church name badge.
What type of church is Desert Church?
We are non-denominational and focused on following Jesus together in the Desert. We have great respect for the wide breadth of the Christian tradition and our church will feel like a mix of different streams of Christianity.
Do I need to bring anything?
Nothing at all! Just yourself and anyone you want to bring with you. If you have kids, you may want to bring a diaper bag or snacks for infants, but we provide age-appropriate activities for all children.
I’m not religious. Will I feel out of place?
Not at all. We welcome people of all backgrounds and beliefs. Our goal is to create a friendly environment where you can explore faith and community at your own pace.
Can I participate if I don’t know the songs or Bible stories?
Yes! You can simply observe or join in whatever way feels most comfortable. We will explain things during service so it should be easy to understand. If you have questions, just ask!
What are the practices I might see?
You will see:
- Communion: A time for followers of Jesus to remember and proclaim the cross through the bread and cup.
- Prayer: Opportunities to pray personally or with our prayer team.
- Worship: Singing together is a way to focus on God
I just want to visit for a holiday, or I was raised in another faith. May I still visit?
Absolutely! Desert Church is open to everyone, no matter your background or beliefs. Whether you’re curious, exploring faith, or just visiting for a holiday, you are welcome to join us. You can participate as much or as little as you like.
What if I have doubts or other questions?
That’s completely okay and normal. On Sundays, you are always welcome to talk with one of our volunteers wearing a Desert Church name badge. You can also use our contact form to send us your questions or schedule a time to meet for coffee with one of our leaders. We would love to walk alongside you and help you explore faith at your own pace.
Do I have to give money the first time I visit?
No. There is no expectation for guests to give. Giving is a way to express our devotion to Jesus and to support the mission of the church.
